Rain and Storms Bring Us Blessings

Rain and storms bring us blessings! Sometimes the rain and the storms are meant to reveal what are on the inside of us…they can bring out the worst in us to bring forth the best in us!

I decided I was going on a run in the rain. It wasn’t raining very hard when I had made that decision. I got into my car and as I got closer to the destination where I go, the rain began to pour. My thought as I sat in my vehicle was, “Are you going sit here and wait it out or run in it? That’s what you had your mind made up to do in the first place!”

I did exactly that, I ran in it…and it felt good! I ran in the heavy rain and enjoyed it. But do you know what?  Although it was raining hard, it didn’t last long.  I enjoyed it and embraced it!  It gave me energy and it revitalized me.

Often times in our personal lives most of us have experienced the phrase “when it rains it pours”.  Oh Lord! Have I ever!  I found myself at times in the past worrying for a moment, how are we going to do this and how are we going to do that. But I got a hold of myself and said “You know what? I’m giving this to the Lord, and He will take care of this, I know He has this!”

I Dreamed a Flood Was Surrounding and Rising Above My House

Years ago, about a year or two after my dad had passed away, I had a dream of a heavy storm hitting my home. I saw water raising on each side of the house… it was rising fast and about to cover the whole house like a tsunami. In the dream I was thinking we’re all going to drowned! If I open any door, water is going to come gushing through and we’re all going to die! I was also worried about the water bursting through the windows, I was panicking on the inside.  

I went into my dad’s bedroom and told him my fears of what was going on and he said, “Be at peace and go to the front door and open it.” My reply was, “I can’t do that! If I do that, then we’re all going to drowned.” He again repeated those same words to me.  So, I went to the front door with hesitation, I closed my eyes and opened the front door and guess what? There was nothing there but sunshine! The flood had disappeared!

The Storms are going to bring Blessings to You!

At that moment a lady from next door appeared with a basket full of fresh baked homemade bread that she had made for me and on top of that said she also had homemade stew on the stove if I wanted it.  Well yeah, of course I wanted it… I didn’t have to cook! Hahaha After all of that who would want too! Haha

The Lord was telling me, “The flood isn’t going to drown you. It is going to bring blessings to you!”  DID YOU HEAR WHAT I JUST SAID? IT IS GOING TO BRING BLESSINGS TO YOU!

The flood was a warning of what was coming and that I was to prepare myself for, not just physically but spiritually. It was a flood of many storms that were about to hit. My dad was the representation of God the Father. I went to my Father for direction, and He gave it to me.   God has us all covered if we only trust in Him. 

Jesus Being Asleep Was Intentional

Matthew 8:23-27 While in the boat, Jesus was asleep resting, a storm hit and the disciples went into a panic, even though they had seen Jesus heal and cast out devils etc. and even do miracles in their own lives, they still had doubt and fear but yet Jesus was still there!

I believe it was intentional for Jesus to be asleep during this time. Jesus knew the storm was coming. For when the storm hit, their fear and doubt needed to be revealed in order for them to become what Jesus was discipling them to be! What they were ordained to be! To become just like Him!

We did have several storms hit us after that and a couple of them went on for quite a while! GOD CAME THROUGH! I WAS PERSISITENT IN TRUSTING HIM, THANKING HIM EVERYDAY, CALLING THOSE THINGS THAT WERE NOT AS THOUGH THEY WERE (Romans 4:17), STAYING JOYFUL.  I DIDN’T FOCUS ON THE STORM; I KEPT MY FOCUS ON HIS PROMISE TO ME….HE GAVE ME A PROMISE THROUGH THAT DREAM.

THE STORM BROUGHT BLESSINGS TO ME…NOT JUST ONE!

You see the storm was what I had to go through to learn the deeper ways of the Lord in order for me to have become who I am today and I’m still learning!  Although at times it felt like Jesus wasn’t there...HE WAS RIGHT THERE BESIDE ME THE WHOLE TIME! I treasure that storm and I thank the Lord for that storm. It revealed areas that I needed to build strength in, and it revealed areas I didn’t know I had such strength in. Storms can reveal both the good and the negative sides of ourselves.

Storms are meant to reveal things that may still be on the inside of us in order for us to become all of what God has ordained us to be!  He didn’t ordain fear over you! He ordained peace, love, rest, and above all…He ordained VICTORY over you!

God has the best for you, but it is you who are holding back His plans and His blessings!

Faith can’t move with doubt.  Faith can’t move with fear.  With God there is perfect love and in perfect love there is no fear. (1 John 4:18)

God wants us to reach the point where nothing takes our focus from Him and His promises.  

Every time it rains or storms don’t fear it…get in it, laugh in it, run in it, dance in it and embrace it! Most importantly is to ALWAYS BE THANKFUL! Before you know it…YOU WILL BE WALKING IN HIS PERFECT PEACE WITH HIS PERFECT LOVE AND WILL HAVE WON THE RACE!

When you can do that, YOUR DAYS OF WORRY ARE OVER!  YOUR DAYS OF DOUBT ARE OVER!  YOUR DAYS OF HAVING ANXIETIES AND FEAR ARE OVER!

Because we are of flesh, these things may “try” to creep up on you, but it is up to you to say “NO YOU DON’T” and move forward in faith!

The sun shines no matter what the weather brings; YOU HAVE OVERCOME and now can live a life of VICTORY!

What I noticed on my run that was revealed to me this morning running in the rain, I felt freedom!  Freedom to enjoy what I was doing, I had no worries, I had no doubts of any kind, I had no anxieties.  I had joy, peace, and FREEDOM! What an awesome feeling that is! FREEDOM IS VICTORY!  FREEDOM IN BEING ME…MY TRUE SELF!

If you want to walk in victory, then embrace what is being revealed to you about yourself and become who you are truly meant to be. To get to your destiny you have to be your true self! Remember those negative things are not who you really are. YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT!
